Thermo Fisher Scientific will showcase new laboratory software at Achema 2009, to be held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from 11 - 15 May 2009.
This software will include Thermo Scientific Connects, a program that bridges the gap between laboratory-generated data and the enterprise-level information required for mission-critical management decisions.
Connects uses Thermo Scientific's LIMS and CDS capabilities, as well as expertise in enterprise-systems integration, to help streamline and improve the transfer of knowledge between laboratory-generated data and enterprise-level information systems.
Connects allows organisations to integrate application-specific workflows, thereby transforming laboratory data into relevant business information and maximising a company's enterprise system investments to better support critical management decisions.
Thermo Scientific has added new functions to Samplemanager LIMS and this updated system will also be on display at Achema.
The new functions will allow Samplemanager LIMS to facilitate industrial laboratory compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025: 2005.
These functions include full security controls, validation of methods, instrument calibration, sampling, control of non-conformance testing and results reporting.
Capabilities such as incident management and statistical analysis of calibration standards and sample results, generation of electronic records and full audit trail facilities allow laboratories to more easily review their quality system.
Samplemanager LIMS benefits management by providing them with a centralised system to access data and extract information, allowing them to more effectively manage their laboratory operations.
At Achema, Thermo Fisher will also host a presentation entitled 'Leveraging the Power of Enterprise LIMS Solutions'.
The presentation will demonstrate how the principles of an integrated approach ensure faster and more accurate data flow between the laboratory and the rest of the organisation, accelerating decision making and knowledge sharing across the enterprise.
