Dolomite has introduced the glass Mitos micromixer chip designed for the rapid mixing of two or three fluid streams.
Compatible with the Mitos four-way edge connector, this chip enables rapid mixing across a wide range of flow rates.
The chip is suitable for the study of reaction kinetics, sample dilution, improving reaction selectivity, rapid crystallisation and nanoparticle synthesis.
The chip measures 45mm x 15mm and incorporates two independent micromixer channels, each with a volume of 8ul, to ensure efficient mixing of the fluid streams.
As a static mixer with no moving parts, the Mitos micromixer chip induces lamination of the flow streams at low flow rates.
Therefore, the mixing process is accelerated due to the subsequent reduction in the diffusion distance between the different fluids.
At higher flow rates, a degree of turbulence occurs within the flow stream, which further reduces the mixing time.
As such, the micromixer performs total mixing of two or three fluid streams within milliseconds.
With a low dead volume, maximum fluid recovery is ensured and accurate data is obtained.
Furthermore, this micromixer chip provides high levels of visibility, which allows excellent access for optical inspection systems, according to Dolomite.
A wide temperature and pressure range along with excellent chemical compatibility makes this micromixer chip suitable for a wide range of microfluidic applications.
