Intertek has signed a further two-year contract with the government of Mozambique to be the sole provider of its Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) programme for exports to the country.
The PSI programme ensures that the correct import duties are paid as per the government's requirements, assists with the identification of illicit cargoes, and helps protect Mozambique's citizens from sub-standard imported goods.
In addition to the PSI programme, Intertek also provides customs support, valuation of cargo and consultancy services to Mozambique's Custom Authority.
It has played a major role in the creation and building up of a training institute for the Mozambican Revenue Authority and has run many specialist training courses.
