13 August 2009 - Carbon Design Innovations has announced that it has received a USD390,000 (GBP234,890) grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The grant has been made through the Small Business Innovation Research Programme and will fund the development and commercialisation of carbon nanotube (CNT) atomic force microscope (AFM) probes for bio-imaging and investigations in cellular biology.
Carbon Design Innovations has developed the nanofabrication methods and has the Intellectual Property that will allow the company to design a high-aspect ratio CNT AFM probe for life-sciences research.
The company will collaborate with the University of California at Davis on the development of the probes.
