TTP Labtech has announced its agreement with a top 10 global pharmaceutical company for the installation of Lab2Lab, its automated sample transport system.
Lab2Lab is a sample transport system designed for connecting remote laboratories and instrumentation across research facilities, regardless of location.
Sample transport is around 5ms-1 and the system provides on-demand delivery of sample microtubes to any instrument, storage facility or sampling point.
The system is based on pneumatic technology that has been successfully used in TTP Labtech's Compound sample stores.
Lab2Lab consists of a sender unit; a router to direct microtubes to the correct location; a receiver unit to transfer microtubes to analytical equipment; an optional buffer unit to hold microtubes for overnight analysis; and a network of flexible tubing to connect the system together.
Each microtube is barcoded for sample traceability and has electronic instructions that detail the precise analytical methods to be used and the destined analytical instrument.
Lab2Lab is easy to expand as each router can connect up to 30 sender/receiver units and more than one router can be used.
The system can be retrofitted in any building, providing a transport system that can adapt as needs change.
