BFi Optilas has introduced a miniature, low wattage HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamp from Welch Allyn.
The miniature arc produces an intense light source and is smaller in size but with greater output than a multi-lamp LED.
The lamp was developed for the endoscopic market but also suits medical and industrial arenas.
The lamp can be used as a direct light source into an endoscope, without using a fibre optic, or as a light source using a small fibre bundle.
