Signatrol has developed a miniature, quick-response HE55TA logger assembly, specifically designed for the rapid validation of benchtop autoclaves.
The logger securely records temperature data to create an inviolate electronic record.
The assembly kit comprises a SL55T-A data logger, an anodised aluminium enclosure and a stainless-steel metal support frame.
The logger's built-in battery allows up to 300 uses.
Accurate to +/-0.5C, implementing the SL55T-A in the validation process takes a fraction of the time of normal methods, claims Signatrol.
The data logger is configured from a PC running Signatrol's TempIT-Pro software and then inserted into its enclosure.
The whole assembly is then placed inside the autoclave and a validation cycle is performed.
At the end of the cycle the logger is retrieved and connected to the PC where the temperature versus time record can be immediately displayed both graphically and in tabular format.
The readings are stored in encrypted form that cannot be altered by ordinary means and therefore forms a permanent inviolate record.
Markers on the graph can be positioned at the start and end of the sterilisation temperature (normally 134C) and the time over this temperature can be read off.
The software will automatically indicate if the measured cycle passes or fails the test.
