Phidgets has released the 1120 - Flexiforce adapter, which is said to make it easy for users to connect the Tekscan Flexiforce sensors to their PC.
Chester Fitchett, chief executive officer at Phidgets, said: 'Phidgets users have been using our voltage divider to interface the Flexiforce sensors.
'While it does work, it was not a very elegant solution and had some reliability problems.
'We decided to do it properly and now offer an easy-to-use solution,' he added.
Like all Phidgets sensors and adapters, the Flexiforce adapter connects to one of the analogue inputs on the 1018 - Phidgetinterfacekit 8/8/8.
The Flexiforce sensor is an ultra-thin and flexible printed circuit, which can be easily integrated into most applications.
With its paper-thin construction, flexibility and force measurement ability, the Flexiforce sensor can measure force between almost any two surfaces and is durable enough to stand up to most environments.
The company has also added three models of Tekscan's 8in Flexiforce sensors to its product line to cover the following force ranges: 0-11lb; 0-25lb; and 0-100lb.
