The Snap Tube from Micronic Europe is a mechanism that enables sample storage tubes to be securely locked into storage racks.
Operating the Snap Tube is said to be fast and simple; by applying downward pressure, the Snap Tube securely locks sample storage tubes into a Micronic storage rack.
To unlock, the user applies a gentle upward pressure to free the tubes to be handled by an automated tube picking system.
Available on all new Micronic Roborack, Staborack and Loborack storage racks, the Snap Tube ensures that samples in non-coded, alphanumeric and 2D-coded tubes are kept secure during transport or storage.
The Micronic storage rack range, developed in conjunction with several automation companies, is based on the ANSI/SBS-1 (2004) Footprint Dimensions, as registered and designated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Accommodating 96 individual tubes in the industry-standard configuration, Micronic racks are fully compatible with all commercial automated sample handling and storage systems.
Micronic racks are manufactured under Class 7 (clean-room 10,000) conditions.
The racks are available sterile, RNase/DNase free and with custom-specific barcodes to enable automated tracking.
