The BSP31 label attachment system from Brady is available in a choice of kits to provide a complete tissue cassette labelling solution.
This labelling system is said to ensure the accurate identification of tissue samples throughout histological processing, using the company's chemical-resistant labels and label application technology.
Each BSP31 kit incorporates the BSP31 label attachment system, designed to mechanically fasten an adhesive label to a tissue cassette, and a Brady BBP11 compact desktop printer for high-quality, low-cost thermal transfer printing.
In addition, full kits include a CR500 barcode reader, Brady tissue cassette labels and Stainerbondz slide labels, together with thermal transfer ribbon.
Light kits are also available without any of these additional items.
Brady labels fit the most commonly used tissue cassettes, providing absolute text clarity and incorporating a 2D barcode to maximise information content and improve laboratory efficiency.
Printed with the specifically developed thermal transfer ribbon and applied using the Brady BSP31 label attachment system, Brady's chemical-resistant labels are guaranteed to stick to tissue cassettes throughout processing, embedding, sectioning and storage for up to 20 years, according to the company.
Richard Kapusniak, manager of materials, new products and technology, said: 'Illegible handwriting and labels that fall off tissue cassettes during processing have been recurring problems in histology labs.
'The BSP31 full kits deliver a complete solution, conveniently including everything needed to start work right away.
'Users can quickly print clear, information-rich labels for cassettes and slides, with barcodes if required, and these are then fixed permanently to cassettes using the BSP31 label attachment system.
'We've even included a barcode reader to help speed sample throughput,' he added.
A BSP cleaning brush kit and a BSP filter kit are also available for the routine care of the BSP31 label attachment system.
