Biotage has announced an agreement to develop new applications on the Biotage Syro Wave in the field of synthetic peptide and protein chemistry.
The work will extend the company's research collaboration with Prof Knud J Jensen at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Biotage recently entered into collaboration with Multisyntech and Prof Jensen to develop the Biotage Syro Wave automated peptide synthesiser.
The instrument combines the technologies behind Biotage's Initiator microwave instrument with the Syro line of robotic peptide synthesisers from Multisyntech.
Prof Jensen said: 'The Syro Wave is the first valve-free peptide synthesiser with integrated microwave heating.
'It holds great promise for the synthesis of long peptides and even small proteins.'
