Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics announces three-year agreements with Premier Purchasing Partners for haemostasis, urinalysis and microbiology systems and reagents.
The company has also agreed sole source contracts for Premier's Ascend (Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor) programme for the same product lines.
Premier serves the purchasing needs of more than 2,400 member hospitals and nearly 70,000 additional healthcare sites in the US.
Ascend assists its almost 200 member hospitals in their ongoing efforts to control costs through simplified purchasing processes, appropriate clinical utilisation and specially negotiated contracts.
The Siemens contracts are in addition to six other agreements with Premier this year, providing members access to Siemens portfolio of diagnostic systems, tests and automation solutions at a reduced cost.
The urinalysis and haemostasis agreements include the Clinitek range of products and the entire portfolio of Siemens haemostasis instruments.
The microbiology agreement will take effect on 1 November 2010 and covers purchases of the Microscan range of products.
