Autoscribe's Matrix Tracker software is being used to manage bio-specimens such as tissue, fluids, DNA samples and slides stored in biobanks and similar repositories.
The software is aimed at research organisations and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies running clinical trials.
The management of a sample repository or biobank requires the registration of samples as collected and the tracking of their location at all times, including the recording of a chain of custody.
It may also include the allocation of studies to specific storage locations - for example, a particular freezer, the use of storage maps, the need for parent-child sample relationships, donor details with consent and ethical approval processing.
The software enables: compliance with current and future regulatory requirements - 21 CFR Part 11, HTA guidelines, MHRA; registering and accessioning of samples within the system, including the retrieval of documents such as patient consent forms; log-in, log-out and relocation of samples within the repository or biobank; storage of location audits, full audit trail for samples and the ability to produce a chain of custody for every sample; and management of consumables used for sample collection.
Autoscribe's Matrix Tracker systems are supplied with a set of tools that allow further configuration of the system if required.
Autoscribe also offers systems for laboratory information management (LIMS), as well as instrument calibration and maintenance, stability testing, customer complaints management, support management and resource planning systems.
