Labtronics has announced a new Connection Control between Nexxis ELN and software Pipette Tracker, which allows ELN worksheets to connect to pipette-calibration information in real time.
As a user selects a pipette, the system can immediately return the calibration status of the pipette and if the pipette is not calibrated the user can be prevented from using it.
Nexxis ELN is the first commercially available ELN that is able to perform this calibration check automatically and in real time.
This will eliminate an important source of error for all companies using pipettes in their analytical processes.
The Connection Control for Pipette Tracker is implemented in a matter of a couple of minutes due to the ReDI technology that is used in Nexxis ELN.
Once the connection is made, the ELN worksheet is able to automatically perform a number of actions, including to: check the calibration status of any pipette; retrieve the metadata for the last calibration event; display a list of pipettes to the user that meet the current volume and calibration status requirements; schedule a pipette for calibration; and to perform a quick calibration check on the pipette.
Automating the check for calibration is an important step towards a complete laboratory automated system, through reducing work for the analyst and approvers and eliminating errors.
With such a system in place, management can be confident that results produced by the lab are correct.
