Agilent has won a USD4.3m (GBP2.6m) contract with the University of Toronto's department of chemistry to equip its new 4,000ft2 laboratory with multiple nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers.
These include 500, 600 and 700MHz NMR systems equipped with multiple probes and automated sample changers.
The new facility is scheduled to open later this year.
More than 45 scientists as well as 300 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will be able to use the facility to investigate solutions for inorganic, organic, materials and bio-organic research, including broader investigations into the fate of fluorinated compounds in the environment.
The new facility is supported by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation.
