Abbott Diagnostics has revealed how laboratories are maximising diagnostic instrument uptime and efficiency through via Abbottlink remote network connectivity.
Abbottlink transmits critical operational data to technical support in real time, enabling support and service representatives to provide proactive monitoring and remote troubleshooting to identify and fix problems before they arise.
The Institut fur Laboratoriumsmedizin in Stuttgart, Germany, is one such laboratory utilising Abbottlink network connectivity.
The laboratory supports a 1,200-bed hospital and operates 24 hours a day, processing more than two million tests annually.
Dr Matthias Orth, medical director at the Institut fur Laboratoriumsmedizin, said: 'Abbottlink is ideal for maintaining and improving the uptime of our instruments.
'When customer support identifies a problem with Abbottlink, they can often fix it before it impacts productivity.
'If a service representative needs to be called, they know exactly what to fix and are prepared - there are not delays of on-site troubleshooting.
'My staff spend less time maintaining instruments and more time performing tasks that deliver diagnostic data to the clinic,' Orth added.
