Cambridge Viscosity has revealed how its explosion-proof mounting enclosures have helped a South American oil refiner to augment its viscosity control system.
The first six installations of the viscosity control system will be in a Latin American refinery, where it will measure asphalt streams at multiple locations, facilitating tight control of the final product.
Because there are harmful vapours present in the oil refinery, electrical devices such as viscosity sensors need to be isolated to prevent vapour explosions.
The purged cabinet of Cambridge's Viscopro 2000 Atex Gc makes it suitable for electronic installations in hazardous environments, where local display, interface and controls are necessary.
