A dosing system and an auto-sampler from Mettler Toledo have helped a biochemical company based in Switzerland to solve a bottling challenge and, as a result, improve productivity.
The company was having to supply a catalogue of more than 4,400 chemicals on a timely basis to pharmaceutical industry buyers.
After evaluating how much money it was losing to overfills, and to meet increased demand for its products, the company began seeking ways to enhance productivity, which led it to Mettler Toledo's Quantos system.
The Quantos system doses 30 target vessels of differing target weights without operator interaction, taking 30-60 seconds per vessel - four times faster than a manual fill.
The company's productivity has increased more than four-fold in just 10 months.
Overfilling has also been reduced from nine per cent to just two.
