VARIO diaphragm pumps and chemistry pumping units from VACUUBRAND are designed to optimise the vacuum automatically and accurately by adjusting the speed of the diaphragm pump.
In a conventional two-point control system that features a solenoid valve, the vacuum pump runs continuously at 100% speed and the solenoid valve is opened and closed as needed to achieve programmed vacuum levels.
Using the VARIO control, the speed of the pump can be adjusted automatically to the vacuum requirements of the process.
The power consumption and the cost of energy depending on the process can therefore be reduced by up to 90 %, the company claims.
The CVC 3000 vacuum controller is designed to support both fully automatic distillation with automatic boiling pressure detection and adjustment without any user pre-settings, as well as controlled and reproducible programme sequences.
Evaporation rates are maximised by the hysteresis free boiling pressure control which results in the shortest process times. Typically more than 30% time saving is achieved in comparison to two-point control, VACUUBRAND says.
VACCUBRAND’S VARIO technology for chemistry diaphragm pumps is offered in a wide range of sizes. With suction capacity of 2 m3/h to nearly 20 m3/h typical single laboratory applications such as rotary evaporation are covered as well as vacuum network supplies or replacement of rotary vane pumps in kilolab and mini plant areas.
For larger applications, pumping units with pumping speeds of up to 75 m3/h are available.
With ultimate vacuum to below 2 mbar, even high boiling point solvents can be easily evaporated under mild temperatures.
