'Word of mouth' endorsements help secure decision to purchase haematology analysers by Eastern North Hertfordshire NHS Trust
The ongoing success of ABX's Pentra range of haematology analysers has been reinforced by the QEII and Lister hospitals of the Eastern North Hertfordshire NHS Trust awarding the haematology contract to ABX Diagnostics.
The tender included a Pentra 120 and Pentra 120 Retic and a STV Data Manager on both sites.
Standing out among a number of stringent requirements for securing the contract, was operational reliability.
A long-established industry marker used by all companies to measure reliability is Mean Time Between Failure (MBTF) and the ABX Pentra Retic analysers have the longest MTBF record on the market.
From the start of the tender process ABX provided a full list of users to the decision-making panel so that they could take their own steps to verify ABX's claims.
"We have total faith in our instrumentation and we always work in partnership with our customers" said Cleve Wright, UK manager ABX Diagnostics.
"Of course a partnership can only work with complete trust which is why we provided the Eastern North Hertfordshire NHS Trust with a complete list of all our customers, not just ones that we had selected, so that they could get an unbiased opinion".
When the decision-making panel took up the offer to contact existing users, all confirmed the reliability of the Pentra analysers, an endorsement that was underlined during the site visits undertaken by the panel.
