Advanced Clinical Sciences becomes a global player in clinical research with the takeover of a Swiss CRO called CRC
Advanced Clinical Sciences Corporation (ACSC) says it has successfully completed the acquisition of Clinical Research Consultancy (CRC), a Swiss CRO with operations in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Scandinavia, and Israel.
This acquisition, the second by ACSC in a year, further strengthens the company's long term strategic plan of achieving a global presence.
In May 2002, it acquired Therapeutic Management, which has offices in Crowthorne, UK and in Ohio and San Diego, USA.
Through the addition of several talented and dedicated executives, the acquisition will also contribute significantly to ACSC's objective of building a world class CRO with particular strengths in a number of key therapeutic areas, including amongst others Oncology, CNS and Immunology.
From its formation in early 2002, ACSC has succeeded in raising a total of œ6 million to fund the acquisitions during one of the most difficult financial climates ever experienced.
CEO of ACSC, Simon Yaxley, says, "We are delighted to add the highly successful operations of CRC to our growing organisation.
CRC adds significantly to our operational capabilities in a number of countries while greatly enhancing our therapeutic area expertise, particularly in oncology and CNS. This will enable us to offer our existing and future customers a much wider and more comprehensive service." Adrian Weiss, a founder of CRC, who will remain with the new organisation as chief medical officer, says, "The combination of CRC with Therapeutic Management provides us with the opportunity to compete for large global studies, for which the individual companies were previously thought too small.
We are very excited about the future of our organisation."
