Partnership will integrate advanced chromatographic tool for method selection with quality control process to provide high-quality chemical compounds for drug discovery
Advanced Chemistry Development and Specs have announced a new partnership to integrate ACD/ChromGenius, an advanced chromatographic tool for method selection, with Specs's quality control process that enables Specs to provide high-quality chemical compounds for drug discovery.
Specs and ACD/Labs have joined forces to develop multiple chromatographic methods to be applied in Specs's quality control process. ACD/ChromGenius, a solution for method selection in high-throughput chromatography, has been integrated into Specs's quality control process to increase the accuracy of structure verification.
This collaboration will also allow for higher throughput.
Included with ACD/ChromGenius is the same database used by Specs to select LCMS methods and assist in the verification of structures-a knowledge base including thousands of retention times for two different methods.
"Specs has a mandate to ensure that its compounds are of the highest possible quality, and they have great expertise in this area," said Michael McBrien, chromatography product manager at ACD/Labs. "We are very excited at the prospect of integrating ACD/ChromGenius into their quality process.
Through this integration, users of ACD/ChromGenius will be provided with access to the same database used by Specs, including thousands of chromatographic retention times." "Yes, we believe that the quality of the compounds is of major importance in the drug discovery process.
All compounds are subjected to strict quality control, both by LC/MS and H-NMR, to check the purity (>90%) and identity," added Franc Overmars, head of quality control at Specs.
"Therefore, we are very happy with this collaboration.
This will increase the efficiency of our quality control process enormously."
