Advanced Chemistry Development reports that the Institute of Organic Chemistry at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, has chosen the chemical databasing tool ChemFolder as its first electronic notebook for instructors, researchers, and students. The Institute licenced ChemFolder through ACD/Labs's Academic Site licencing programme, created in March 2004 to give educational institutions throughout the world the ability to implement industry-standard chemistry software at affordable academic prices.
Through the agreement coordinated by CheMicro Research and Development, the official ACD/Labs distributor for Hungary, the Institute has also been equipped with a full year of access to ACD/Labs Online (I-Lab), the internet-based service that provides instant access to the latest chemical databases and property prediction programs for NMR spectra, molecular physical properties, and Iupac- and CAS index-based systematic nomenclature.
Professor Peter Matyus, director of the Institute of Organic Chemistry at Semmelweis University, states: "We are satisfied that the user-friendly ACD/ChemFolder software will meet all of our needs as a laboratory notebook.
"In addition, both research and education will benefit from the added value of having access to databasing and prediction tools through ACD/Labs Online".
