Agilent Technologies and Csols have announced an agreement to develop and market the integration of Csols' Link for Lims (laboratory information management systems) software product and Agilent's networked data systems (NDS) series of products, which include the Agilent ChemStation Plus and Agilent Cerity NDS for pharmaceutical quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).

CDS-Lims integration enables improved regulatory compliance and productivity in the drug discovery, development and manufacturing process.
The Link for Lims software is expected to provide a seamless, bi-directional interface between Agilent networked data systems and any Lims by using plug-in drivers for all major commercial Lims.
This would allow users of Agilent networked data systems to integrate their chromatography data with their enterprises' Lims in accordance with common regulatory standards such as GLP, GMP or the US Food and Drug Administration's ruling on electronic records and signatures (21 CFR Part 11).
The software can automatically build sequences and report results, and can also automate most manual data manipulation and review activities.
The software is scaleable from a single chromatograph to the largest enterprise systems.
CSols' Links for Lims can also integrate other (non-CDS) instruments with Lims.
The Agilent ChemStation Plus NDS family provides modular software components for instrument control, data acquisition and data management, giving laboratories the flexibility to meet their present and future requirements.
The ChemStation base software handles all applications including LC, LC/MS, GC, CE and CE/MS, and can be extended with add-on software modules for data organisation and storage, remote control and monitoring, compliance with regulatory guidelines (21 CFR Part 11), and validation of analytical methods.
Agilent Cerity NDS for pharmaceutical QA/QC is designed to meet the specific requirements of QA/QC labs in the pharmaceutical industry.
It provides centralised management of chromatography data for labs with a few to a few hundred instruments and many users.
It reduces a lab's operating and validation costs by accommodating the laboratory's workflow and by facilitating compliance with FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11) and quality standards.
CSols (formerly Contemporary Solutions) focuses specifically on automating workflow at the laboratory bench level and integrating analytical instruments with Lims and other corporate data systems.
