In-vitro slide method for the non-offensive, convenient and reliable detection of faecal occult blood in stool samples selected for colorectal cancer screening study
Selected for use in the UK National Colorectal Cancer Screening pilot study, HemaScreen is an in-vitro slide method for the non-offensive, convenient and reliable detection of faecal occult blood in stool samples.
The method is guaiac-based and is available in convenient packaging for use by both the patient and laboratory.
The product benefits from a cut-off level of 2-4ml of blood in 100 gram of faeces to help minimise false positives. Positive and negative controls on each slide aid confident reporting.
Several formats are available which are suitable for laboratory use; as single test slides or triple slides or as a Stat test which incorporates a developing solution.
