The 16th International Matrix LIMS users meeting, organised by Autoscribe, was held at the Manor House, Aldermaston, UK, on 4 October 2001
Attended by a broad spectrum of LIMS users from a variety of sectors including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, petrochemicals, government and contract laboratories the meeting generated lively discussion and exchange of information.
An announcement was made concerning the addition of staff in development, technical services and sales department.
Very positive responses were given by users on the quality of support provided.
End user presentations included new developments in the area of integration of Matrix Plus LIMS with the NuGenesis Scientific Data Management system, how a pharmaceutical production facility was now benefiting from using Autoscribe's entry level Sample Tracker system and a unique use of Matrix Plus for business handling at the UK National Physical Laboratory.
Talks by Autoscribe included plans for Version 4 of Matrix LIMS and the introduction of two optimised software modules, Plate Manager for high-throughput screening and Gel Manager for biotechnology laboratories.
In addition automatic creation of emails from Matrix LIMS, instrument interfacing and the use of test suites were also presented.
The North American Autoscribe Matrix Plus user meeting will follow in Baltimore, USA, on 17-18 October 2001.
