New version of Lims has many new functions including full audit trail of each stage of a process, storage of pictures, diagrams, and spectra, and features for 21 CFR Part 11
Combining improvements to well-established modules and the addition of new functionality, version 4.0 of Matrix Lims from Autoscribe is said to represent the cutting edge of user-friendly, yet powerful, laboratory information management.
A new 'Process Steps' module will enable users to track with full audit trail each stage of a process such as the steps required in the preparation of a sample eg, extraction, dilutions, addition of reagents etc.
The storage of pictures, diagrams, and spectra in the Matrix Lims database through Binary Large Object (Blob) management is fully supported in the new release enabling integration with products from vendors such as NuGenesis.
The industry leading configuration tools in Matrix Lims have been further improved with the addition of a configuration wizard to speed up the process of screen design. New productivity enhancing 'one-button' creation of documents that fully describe a screen configuration will be of significant interest to users operating in regulated environments.
Matrix Lims's flexibility in assigning test limits is further extended in this latest release where new 'rule-based limits' have been introduced.
This new feature will be of particular importance in applications where limits should be automatically changed according to entries in specified fields.
Typical applications of rule-based limits might include different limits for male or female patients for clinical test samples or in chemical production sites where delivery acceptance may vary according to the customer.
The latest release also includes more advanced electronic record/electronic signature features to allow users to fully comply with their interpretation of the 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Matrix Lims 4.0 has been subjected to the most advanced testing routine using robotic software to ensure that multiple combinations of databases and Windows environments have been covered.
Autoscribe says this process has been completed very satisfactorily and shipments will be made on schedule.
