A new application note describes the use of a flexible system for tracking sample inventories an alternative to a full function Lims
The application note describes how the Autoscribe's Sample Tracker product accommodates sample registration either singly or in batches and ensures that a unique number is assigned to each new sample or batch.
Detail is given demonstrating how confirmation that samples have been placed into storage allows entry of details such as room and freezer numbers and, for example, if the samples are stored in boxes how each box can be allocated a unique number.
Additionally the note shows how the re-location of samples and removal of samples for testing and use is also tracked.
Full detail is given as to how Sample Tracker allows sample status to be monitored on screen or via an appropriate report on areas including sample movement history, sample expiry date review, storage room management and inventory. Sample Tracker is an alternative to a full function Lims, which does not have the associated overhead of managing test results. It is fast to install and easy to use.
It operates on Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP, as a standalone workstation, network application or as part of a global environment.
