International users meeting, held at WilliamsF1 Conference Centre, included both technical and user presentations
The 18th International Matrix Lims users meeting, organised by Autoscribe, was held at the newly opened WilliamsF1 Conference Centre on 2 October 2002.
Attended by over 30 Matrix Lims users from a variety of industrial sectors, the technical presentations generated considerable discussion and exchange of information. User presentations included the cost benefits of implementing a two-site Matrix Lims system using Citrix technology, the use of rule base limits in an environment where limits vary according to the sex and age of the patient, and the linking of Matrix Lims to an ERP system.
A further talk from a major pharmaceutical company described the pitfalls associated with a manual stability management system and the consequent justification and benefits arising from investment in Matrix Lims Stability Manager. Presentations from Autoscribe addressed topics including new technical product developments associated with Matrix version 4, the use of hand-held computers with Matrix Lims, technologies for multi-site software implementation, and an update on the activities of Autoscribe's expanding technical services department.
Following the meeting all the participants were given a tour of the WilliamsF1 Grand Prix collection.
Reflecting on the day, John Boother, managing director of Autoscribe, commented "Our choice of the prestigious WilliamsF1 venue for this meeting was a direct thank-you to customers who have helped us over the last 18 months to grow business by nearly 120%."
