Pittcon launch for new family of six instruments with inovative features to extend lamp lifetime and eliminate fluctuations and instabilities
This year's Pittcon saw the launch of the Libra family of spectrophotometers, a complete new range of competitively priced instruments from Biochrom for general laboratory applications. The range comprises six instruments, from the robust, easy to use Libra S11 and S12 for routine QC and teaching applications to the Pharmacopoeia compliant PC-controlled Libra S32PC with Instrument Performance Validation (IPV).
A Biochrom innovation, 'Press to Read' lamps (PTR), is included as standard on the higher-specification instruments.
PTR lowers cost of ownership by running the source on full power only when it is required for a measurement, extending lamp lifetime by at least 50%.
Any short-term fluctuations and instability are eliminated using another Biochrom development, Optical Noise Compensation.
The company says it is actively seeking distribution partners.
