Newly-launched amino acid analyser selected by major Canadian hospital to detect inborn error conditions
Montreal Children's Hospital has chosen the new Biochrom 30 amino acid analyser, launched at Pittcon 2002, to detect inborn error conditions.
While enjoying all the benefits of the latest technologies and materials, the Biochrom 30 uses well-established and proven separation and detection methodology.
This was a key factor in the hospital's buying decision, as it allowed a seamless transfer of work from its old Beckman instrument. Another critical factor was the quality of technical support available from Fisher Canada, Biochrom's exclusive Canadian distributor.
Typical of the hardware improvements in the Biochrom 30 are new ceramic pump heads for reliable high pressure operation, an innovative valveing system and the use of Peek components in critical locations.

The advanced graphical user interface allows easy method creation, gives real-time hardware status information and is fully integrated with the data handling software. Customised report generation, simultaneous data acquisition and processing, peak identification and export of data to other software packages or a laboratory information system are a few examples of the available facilities.
