It allows databases of information to be constructed, delivering information that offers real benefits to industry in relation to formulation, manufacturing and quality control.
The Freeman Technology powder rheometer works on a patented helical blade principle, where the blade displaces powder as it moves along a helical path through the sample.
It is the only instrument on the market that measures both the axial force and the rotational force (or torque) as the powder is displaced.
These measurements allow the flow properties to be described in terms of the total energy required to produce flow.
This approach recognises the complex nature of powders and the need to evaluate flow properties in relation to the many key variables such as flow rate, aeration, consolidation and moisture content.
