New 24-well F-bottom plate has wells with specific architecture/topography and surface treatment to accelerate the attachment, proliferation, and differentiation of seeded cells
Integra Biosciences has announced a new 24-well F-bottom plate featuring its patent pending 'surface adhere' technology developed to accelerate the growth of difficult to grow and anchorage dependent cells.
Surface adhere technology has involved the development of plate wells with a specific architecture/topography and special surface treatment which, when incorporated into the 24-well F-bottomed plate, greatly accelerates the attachment, proliferation, and differentiation of seeded cells.
Cell growth also gains an advantage from a 28% increase in plate well surface compared to traditional polystyrene cell culture plates.
The 24-well F-bottom plate may be used in lieu of expensive extracellular matrix or biologically-coated plates.
Proven in experiments with different cell lines including 293 T, CCL-49 hamster tumour, neuronal stem cells, oestoblasts and fibroblasts 3T3, the gridded 3-D microstructured surface of the new plate gives rise to higher cell densities, better morphology, and potential multi-layer growth.
Adopting a standard SBS format, the 24-well F-bottomed plate is compatible with most automated plate handling systems. Individually wrapped plates with accompanying lids are supplied sterile with a shelf-life of one year at room temperature.
