Malvern Instruments has appointed Stephen Carrington to the position of product manager for the company's rheology systems
The appointment reflects Malvern's continuing development and expansion of its team of rheology specialists.
Malvern added rheological properties measurement to its product portfolio twelve months ago with the acquisition of Bohlin Instruments, and says it is committed to delivering excellent technical and applications support worldwide.
Stephen Carrington has a degree in chemistry and polymer science and his PhD thesis focused on the extensional flow of polymer solutions.
He joins Malvern from MicroRheology, a company that he co-founded as a spin out from the physics department at the University of Bristol.
He brings to this new role extensive scientific and technical expertise in the field of rheology as well as recent business experience.
As product manager, Carrington will be based at Malvern's headquarters in the UK and as part of the worldwide team will be responsible for the definition and instigation of new product development programmes for Malvern's rheometry products.
In addition he will work with territory experts to identify growth opportunities to maximise worldwide sales of rheometry products.
