The pH stat method is proving more and more popular in synthesis. The 718 stat titrino offers solutions to demanding control tasks and investigations in the laboratory and pilot plant
Whether pH or redox values have to be set or held makes no difference.
Per determination up to 500 data groups comprising of volume, time and measured value are stored and processed to a typical pH stat curve, which can be printed out or displayed on a PC.
Up to nine time windows can be set to determine the consumption per unit time between any two points on the curve. Many synthesis are highly exothermic or endothermic.
As soon as the temperature lies outside the desired range, this is recorded by the temperature sensor and the 718 stat titrino stops the reagent addition, activates cooling or heating until the temperature is again within the desirable limits, or it triggers an error message.
In addition to the stat functions, the 718 offers measurement functions for pH, mV, T, Ipol, and Upol.
A new feature in the Metrohm program is the Doc mode, which allows gradients of the measured value to be run.
If, for example, you wish to increase the pH value from 4.0 to 8.0 within an hour, simply enter the two limit values using the keypad.
Should any temperature surprises occur during this hour then cooling devices can be activated.
The enzymatic methods of determination (eg, lipase, trypsin, antacids) used in pharmaceutical analysis, biology and medicine according to FIP (Federation Internationale Pharmaceutique) are permanently stored along with other methods. The evaluation may take a relatively long time as both the intermediate results and the FIP standard determined between times are stored in a result silo.
This means greater statistical reliability.
