Flexible titration system can be controlled either by PC or its own touch screen control, offers context-sensitive help, and meets requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 as well as GLP and GMP
The Titrando titration system is described as powerful, intelligent and flexible, yet simple to use.
Methods are easy to program using the new touch screen control.
Menus are intuitive, and its electronic alpha-numeric keys make data entry quick.
Once the system is programmed, simply press the Start button to begin operation.
The Titrando detects and alerts you to setup errors, and it can remind you to enter in vital information such as sample size and identifications before the titration begins.
Data retrieval is flexible as well: the data that is created with the Titrando can be stored internally, on a data card or in a PC; or, alternatively, it can be transferred directly to Lan - without the need of a local PC.
Now you have a real choice in titration control, says Metrohm.
Operate the Titrando using either the touch screen control or a PC without a titrator keypad.
Both systems accommodate Dosinos and Dosimats, and they have the same control capabilities and identical user interface - all at the same price.
Touch screen control option.
Titrando's large, colour touch screen control allows you to easily view items such as colour graphs and calibration history in tabular form.
The touch screen has features such as large touch screen buttons as well as fixed buttons to quickly access start, stop, home page, back, print, help, and manual control.
Practicality is an important instrument feature for a working laboratory.
Up to three Titrandos can be controlled by one touch screen control, which can sit on the benchtop or hang on a wall via an optional holder.
The touch screen display is chemically resistant with a protective transparency that can easily be exchanged if needed. The PC data card - used to store methods and data and designed to be an individual user keycard as well - is inserted into the back of the Titrando touch screen, where a cover protects it from accidental spillage.
PC control option.
The Titrando can be controlled directly from a PC-without the need for the touch screen control.
Take advantage of the extra storage capacity of a PC and a full-sized computer monitor.
The PC control option offers the same user interface as the touch screen control at the same cost.
On-line help-searching for a manual is a thing of the past.
Now, the answers to your questions are right at your fingertips with the touch screen control's permanent help button.
It provides full text information and guidance for the active screen.
With PC control you also have the ability to activate Follow-me help.
Follow-me help remains on screen as you navigate the Titrando menus, offering tutorials and advice as you go.
If the Titrando (touch screen control or PC control) senses an error anywhere in the system, a full text error message will be displayed along with a suggested corrective action.
Quick access function.
The quick access function (direct parameters) is invaluable for routine analyses.
It allows direct access to the parameters most frequently used for a given method.
This means that accessing multiple menus to change critical settings and parameters has been eliminated - they are now accessible from one page.
Routine dialogue mode.
Routine dialogue mode, another useful function for routine analyses, can be customised to limit access to only the operations necessary for day-to-day use.
Users can load their individual profiles from a personal keycard and see only those operating elements that are actually needed.
In the expert dialogue, full control and all parameters are available.
Intelligent reagent dispensing.
A titration is only as accurate as its reagent dispensing system.
The Titrando allows up to four dispensing devices per system.
The Titrando model 808 has a built-in Dosimat, and it uses an Exchange Unit for the first dispensing device.
The model 809 uses the Dosino with Dosing Unit for its first dispensing device.
Subsequently, either Dosinos with Dosing Units or Dosimats with Exchange Units can be used for additional dispensing with either Titrando model.
Smart, self-checking features.
Titrando's accessories help check the setup.
The chip in the Exchange and Dosing Units stores serial number, titrant ID, buret volume and titrant standardisation history.
As soon as the dosing device is connected, it communicates this information to the Titrando which then verifies proper installation.
Model 801 and model 804 stirrers also contain built-in chips to identify each component of your system.
If a sample is started without the correct reagent or peripherals connected, the Titrando will stop, communicate an error alert and even provide suggestions for corrective action.
Exchange Unit model 806.
The rugged, new 806 Exchange Unit (for use with Titrando model 808 and Dosimat model 805) is made of chemically resistant, quality components to withstand even the harshest lab conditions.
The tray is solidly constructed and will not bend or twist.
The Exchange Unit's built-in holders for the dispensing tip and electrode are distanced from electronic parts to avoid damage from spillage. These Exchange Units, which are available in 1-, 5-, 10-, 20- and 50ml sizes, can be used with existing Metrohm Titrinos or Dosimats.
Every Exchange Unit has both a serial and cylinder number, and it is delivered with an individual quality certificate.
Space-saving Dosing Unit model 807 and Dosino model 800.
The Titrando model 809 uses Dosinos to dispense titrant. This space-saving design incorporates holders for two dosinos with one-litre bottles.
Two titrants fit perfectly on top of the Titrando without risk of tipping over.
The optional holder expands the system to four dosinos, stabilising two additional Dosinos on the benchtop next to the Titrando.
The Dosino buret has been redesigned as well: the cylinder is now transparent for easy-to-view dispensing and preparation of the reagent.
Metrohm says it protects your investment.
The Titrando offers a wide range of innovations such as the smart dosing devices and stirrers, yet it remains compatible with existing Metrohm instruments including models 710 Dosing Units, 685 Dosimats, 700 Dosinos, 739 Exchange Units and all Metrohm stirring devices.
In fact, any Metrohm Exchange Unit that is equipped for automatic valve switching (available since 1973) works with the Titrando. Automating the Titrando is simple using the optional remote box. Metrohm sample changers models 730, 760 and 748 connect to the Titrando system to automate from 12 to 126 samples, hands-free. Data management is knowledge management.
For data storage and transfer, Metrohm says the Titrando is a state-of-the-art instrument.
The data from a Titrando can be printed out directly to a USB-connected printer.
Data (and methods) can be stored directly on a PC data card.
With PC control users have additional storage options such as hard drives, external drives (CD Rom, Zip disk, floppy disk), intranet, etc The Titrando can also send a machine-readable report directly to Lims.
Regardless of the type of data storage and retrieval chosen, all information regarding the system's hardware connections and the method parameters is stored with each individual analysis.
Lab-Link opens up internal networks (intranet, Lims, Lan) to the Titrando and makes it internet-compatible.
Tools such as NuGenesis's scientific data management system, eRecordManager, and CyberLab can be used for long-term storage-without connection to a local PC.
The downloading of methods from company-specific websites is another application of Lab-Link.
FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
GLP, GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 are becoming increasingly important in day-to-day laboratory life.
The Titrando System is oriented toward quality management in the laboratory and offers the following unprecedented possibilities.
Each time that it is switched on, the Titrando carries out a self-diagnosis.
If programmed accordingly, the instrument will display validation and/or service reminders.
Limits for results and sample size, which will be checked for each determination, can be programmed. The standardisation of the titrant can be monitored over time in both tabular form or as a graph.
The calibration history of the sensors can be accessed, thus degradation of the sensor can be recognised before results are affected.
All changes to the methods are documented.
The Titrando allows strict control of rights of access using login and password; the requirements defined in FDA Regulation 21 CFR Part 11 regarding electronic signature and electronic record are fulfilled; this also applies to the other points contained in this regulation, namely the protection of electronic records against accidental or intentional alteration and complete traceability; for long-term archiving, a machine-readable PC/Lims report is available.
