Built around an MCR 500 research grade rheometer configured with a forced gas oven, the PDS features a complete suite of rotational and oscillatory tests including creep and automated master curve generation, advanced analysis software, and a special melts sample prep kit to simplify sample preparation, loading, and cleaning.
The system utilises Physica's proprietary direct strain oscillation (DSO) for true controlled strain operation.
Designed to fulfill the specific needs of the plastics and polymer industries, the PDS is equally at home doing repetitive melts testing as well as product development and research.
The wide torque range allows measurement of low viscosity molten polymers, while the open architecture facilitates sample loading and cleaning.
Optional accessories extend the range of the instrument to include thermosets, solids, and elastomers, while DMA experiments can be run using the optional torsion fixture.
