Parker Balston has introduced the new compact and lightweight N2-4000 membrane nitrogen generator that produces nitrogen with a purity of 99% at 4000 cc/min for laboratory analytical instruments that require low flow rates of nitrogen.
The new generator provides nebulising gas for evaporative light scattering detectors (ELSD), or gas for LC/MS instruments when used in the nanospray mode.
Installation of a Parker N2-4000 nitrogen generator increases productivity, reduces operating costs and improves laboratory safety by eliminating the need for potentially dangerous high-pressure nitrogen cylinders.

Weighing just 20.5Kg, the generator can also be easily wall-mounted.
The N2-4000 generates nitrogen using proprietary membrane technology.
Installation is simple.
A standard compressed air line is connected to the inlet, and the generator is now ready to supply nitrogen.
The generator separates air into its component gases by passing the compressed air through bundles of individual hollow fibres semi-permeable membranes.
As the air passes through these hollow fibres, water vapour and other 'fast' gases, such as oxygen, quickly permeate through the wall of the membrane.
Only nitrogen then flows through the fibre bores as the product stream.
