District hospital selects new system to replace out-dated equipment, making its decision on the strength of image quality
Salisbury District Hospital has chosen an HDI 5000 SonoCT system from Philips Ultrasound to replace out-dated equipment.
The department carried out a thorough evaluation of several ultrasound systems, eventually deciding on the Philips system because of its exceptional image quality.
Jane Anderson, radiographer, explained: "In our opinion, the SonoCT makes a tremendous difference to the image quality we can achieve.
Our vascular department also uses a Philips ultrasound system so we are already familiar with the instruments, training and support that the company offers." The new HDI 5000 SonoCT has already been in operation at Salisbury for several months and is used for general abdominal work, paediatric scanning and for an increasing workload in musculoskeletal imaging.
