Princess Margaret Hospital benefits from improved resolution and no longer needs to do venograms
Princess Margaret Hospital, Swindon is using a HDI 5000 from Philips Ultrasound.
Karen Hawkins, superintendent radiographer in ultrasound, said: "We perform general abdominal ultrasound, some musculoskeletal scans and a full vascular service.
Each of those services has improved resolution with the new HDI 5000 and we no longer need to do venograms." "We have a large multi-disciplinary team and find the Philips Ultrasound equipment very user friendly and flexible.
The HDI 5000 performs well across the range of ultrasound examinations producing quality images.
In fact, we have just started to archive films onto a PAC system with the aim of having a film-free department which is working very well, thanks to the excellent support from the Philips Ultrasound engineers and applications specialists." Karen concluded: "It was a tough decision but, at the end of the evaluations, it was Philips that came out on top."
