"The HDI 5000 gives very good images and the probes are high resolution and particularly good for looking at small musculoskeletal lesions in the hands and wrists."
The ultrasound department at Oldchurch Hospital in Romford is using a new Philips Ultrasound HDI 5000 Sono CT to progress ultrasound contrast techniques.
Sam Banyikidde, consultant radiographer there, explained: "We perform a full range of general and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations and are starting to use the equipment for ultrasound contrast, injecting microbubbles of contrast media intravenously into the patient and then scanning the area of interest.
This has without a doubt enhanced ultrasound diagnostic capabilities and specificity and there are only a few instruments currently on the market that offer this capability." "The HDI 5000 gives very good images and the probes are high resolution and particularly good for looking at small musculoskeletal lesions in the hands and wrists.
In the end, we decided on Philips because everything seemed right for us."
