The Owl family of very high speed line scan cameras combines ultra-high sensitivity and ultra-low noise with the highest throughput available in single or dual outputs.
The payoff is high signal-to-noise ratio and ease of use in the toughest imaging applications.
The Owl cameras operate at up to 50,000lps. Have a sensitivity greater than 2000DN/nJ/cm2, and have read noise below 10 electrons.
All Owl cameras provide CameraLink for convenient data acquisition and control.
They can be operated at 50Mpixels/sec from each of two 14-bit outputs.
An RS232 port is provided for additional flexibility in controlling the camera independently of the CameraLink interface.
All Owls have a standard F-mount lens adapter.
Pixel Devices's design of the Owls mechanically partitions the sensor from the major sources of internal heat, helping provide the lowest noise floor of any line scan camera.
Owl cameras are based on Pixel Devices's proprietary Low Noise Linear (LNL) image sensors, developed to provide high sensitivity at high speed while maintaining ultra-low read noise.
They achieve sensitivity approaching multistage TDI sensors, but without the alignment problems.
The owl is optimised in three models to maximise performance requirements from highest speed to lowest noise.
