Extended relationship sees medical display systems provider working more closely with anaesthesia equipment supplier to create several new products
Planar Systems and Datex-Ohmeda have extended the relationship that brings the two closer together to provide medical displays to the world wide health care market.
Datex-Ohmeda, based in Helsinki, Finland, is a supplier of anaesthesia equipment, systems, and services.
The company has incorporated Planar's display systems for more than a decade, most recently using Planar's VitalScreenT display with the Datex-Ohmeda S/5 anaesthesia system.
Under the expanded relationship, Planar will provide several new products to Datex-Ohmeda.
"Planar is implementing a market strategy based on close, collaborative relationships with customers", said Kimmo Karhunen, managing director of Planar's European operations, based in Espoo, Finland.
"In this case, our technological expertise and high-level of service and flexibility will enable Datex-Ohmeda to deliver better value to its customers." The extended partnership was featured for the first time at the 7th WCNA (World Congress of Nurse Anaesthetists) in Helsinki, Finland, in June.
The products being introduced by Datex-Ohmeda include several new, customised displays: a 17-inch display with medical certification, a 19-inch secondary display and a 42-inch plasma panel display, appropriate for various applications within or outside of the immediate patient area.
The partnership will also be visible at subsequent events throughout the rest of the year. "We have selected Planar both for its commitment to working intimately with us as a customer on specialised display solutions, and for its broad product and service spectrum", said Terho Hoskonen, director of marketing for Datex-Ohmeda's patient monitoring business area.
Planar provides the healthcare market with a full suite of display and computing solutions used in patient monitoring, medical imaging, informatics, surgical, ancillary, and administrative applications.
Those used in patient care areas are designed specifically for the unique demands of the hospital environment. These demands include meeting world-wide safety certifications as well as operating requirements for product durability and optical quality.
