Generators provide a pure, reliable, safe supply of hydrogen carrier gas for gas chromatography, and fuel gas for flame ionisation detectors and other hydrogen-consuming analysers
Laboratory hydrogen users now have one more reason to convert from cylinder-based hydrogen to the convenience and reliability of on-site generation.
Proton Energy Systems has doubled its warranty on all Hogen GC laboratory hydrogen generators, from one year to a full two-year guarantee on parts and labour. Proton's laboratory hydrogen generators provide a pure (99.9999%), reliable, safe supply of hydrogen carrier gas for gas chromatography (GC) and fuel gas for flame ionisation detector (FID) and other hydrogen-consuming analysers.
Labs that employ Hogen generators make an investment that simplifies hydrogen supply and eliminates the hidden costs associated with ordering, renting, delivering, servicing, and maintaining cylinders. Hundreds of Proton's laboratory hydrogen generators have been in use worldwide for more than three years.
These systems have accrued over one million hours of field use and have consistently received positive ratings from lab professionals, according to David Wolff, vice president, marketing and communications, Proton Energy Systems.
"The outstanding reliability of our on-site laboratory hydrogen generators has created the opportunity for us to provide this additional warranty benefit for our customers," he said.
List prices for Hogen GC systems will not change based on the extended warranty, Wolff added.
"The Hogen GC is growing every year in popularity.
"It is is a proven, reliable, well-accepted product that offers capabilities and features never seen before in the market".
Hogen GC laboratory hydrogen generators offer the advantages of an internal palladium membrane dryer (which virtually eliminates the need for routine dryer maintenance); standard autofill feature, small (23cm) footprint, 1.4MPa output (enabling fast GC analyses) and a digital readout. Hogen GC lab hydrogen generators have become well-accepted in a range of industries and applications, including hydrocarbon and petrochemical processing, pharmaceutical, biotech and environmental analysis.
These industries rely on ultra-pure (99.9999%) hydrogen supply, often within tight space constraints. Hing Chan, senior technical specialist, Chevron Phillips Chemical, said, "Proton Energy Systems's hydrogen generator is the most reliable H2 generator in our lab. "We've had zero problems with it.
"The other generator brands we use stop working every few months.
"We have to ship these back to the manufacturers for repair, and bring in H2 tanks to temporarily fill our H2 needs during the repair period".
