RDP Electronics reports that a hydraulic press recently beuing refurbished used its LVDT sensors - which were found to be in perfect working order after 27 years
Hydraulic Presses (UK) has been in the business of repairing and refurbishing industrial presses for over thirty years.
The company knows the importance of long-term reliability, and so do its customers.
Hydraulic Presses is also an RDP customer, replacing pre-used machines' sensors with new RDP versions as a matter of course.
One recent project involved the complete refurbishment of a press which had been in constant use from the time of its initial installation in 1974.
Dale Chambers takes up the story, "We noticed that the LVDT sensors fitted as original equipment were made by RDP Electronics, so we returned them to the factory for recalibration." RDP regularly provides sensor recalibration and certification, but everyone was astounded by the results of this request.
As Fred Thornycroft of RDP explained, "Imagine our delight when we found the 1974 transducers to be in perfect working order after nearly three decades of continuous use."
