For the last five years, Scientific Laboratory Supplies has held an annual suppliers showcase
Over 50 key suppliers were invited to display and educate the staff of SLS over a two-day period and it has already become a focal point on people's calendars.
SLS showed its appreciation by recognising several suppliers with awards this year.
Heathrow Scientific and Technical Service Consultants collected the best stand award for each exhibition day.
Integra Biosciences won the business development award for 2003/4 and Hanna Instruments won the best supplier award for 2003/4, which was voted for by staff from all departments within SLS.
Over 36 companies received a vote for this award and Hanna Instruments just edged Bibby Sterilin into second place, with Nickel Electrode and Purite coming a creditable joint third.
Mark Shelton, sales and marketing director of SLS said: "We are proud and pleased to host such an event again this year, especially to coincide with the launch of the sixth edition catalogue.
"When we first put this suppliers showcase concept together, there was some concern that the show was not designed to directly involve our customers and that only SLS personnel attended.
"It was a bold decision, but at the end of the day, if my staff do not understand the products properly, or at the very least have a familiarity with them, then how can I expect them to provide the complete customer service package that we strive for? Five years on, we have suppliers queuing to be at the event, which is a fantastic accolade to those that make the show happen and the focused attention that my staff give the suppliers attending."
