A new mini vertical gel unit and casting system which enhances resolution and usability for both precast and handcast polyacrylamide gels
A new mini vertical gel unit and casting system which enhances resolution and usability for both precast and handcast polyacrylamide gels is the latest addition to the Scie-Plas range of electrophoresis products.
Typical applications for these new units include protein and nucleic acid separations, mini SDS-page, preparative peptide and gradient pore separations.
The TV100 and TV100Y, are compatible with the majority of commercially available precast gels measuring up to 10x10cm and provide users with some handy features and benefits.
For example, both precast and handcast versions incorporate a quick release gel clamping system which enables easy gel access.
Enhanced cooling features improve gel resolution and decrease run times. The handcast option provides casting and running in the same module, thereby eliminating the need for glass plate transfer. Also, an ultra-soft silicone casting seal prevents gel leakage. Both versions incorporate a new parallel clamping mechanism to ensure that even pressure is imparted onto the gel cassette or glass plates.
This eliminates any undue pressure on the gel, thus preventing lane distortion.
Heat is evenly distributed across the gel and the possibility of band distortion is minimised because the gels are fully submerged in running buffer during the electrophoresis process.
The TV100K versions include additional cooling via a super-cooled tank, which optimises resolution and reduces run times.
It can also be connected to a re-circulating chiller, the K-Electro4, which will keep the temperature of the running buffer below room temperature.
In addition to being supplied with all necessary accessories, the handcast option is also supplied with glass plates and bonded spacers as standard, removing the need for users to align the spacers manually.
The Scie-Plas mini vertical gel unit and casting system is CE compliant and is produced to manufacturing standards recognised and awarded ISO9002 certification.
