Electrophoresis specialist introduces single mini vertical gel units featuring a quick release gel clamping system which results in faster loading speeds
The new single mini vertical gel units recently introduced by electrophoresis specialist Scie-Plas feature a quick release gel clamping system which results in faster loading speeds.
Both precast and handcast gels can be loaded via this new system, enabling quick and easy gel access.
Typical applications for this new unit include protein and nucleic acid separations, mini SDS-Page, preparative, peptide and gradient pore separations.
The TV50 is compatible with the majority of commercially available precast gels measuring up to 10.5cm x 10cm and provides users with some useful features.
The clamp design incorporates one quick release screw on each side, which exerts sufficient pressure for adequate sealing.
Also, a parallel clamping mechanism ensures that even pressure is imparted onto the gel cassette or glass plates, thereby eliminating any undue force on the gel units and so preventing gel smiling or spurious runs.
The TV50 units are supplied with all necessary accessories and the glass plates now have bonded spacers as standard.
This removes the need for users having to align the spacers manually when they use the unit in conjunction with Scie-Plas two or ten gel casters.
Condensation is eliminated by strategically placed ventilation holes which are located so as to prevent accidental contact during operation.
Other safety features include asymmetric lid offset electrodes, which prevent accidentally polarity inversion and an all- enclosing one-piece safety lid with integral electrode connections.
Scie-Plas TV50 and casting systems are CE compliant and produced to manufacturing standards recognised and awarded ISO9002 certification.
