Compact image analysis systems use advanced camera technology to capture faint images to give impressive results with DNA or protein gels and blots
Syngene will be showcasing its compact ChemiGenius2 and GeneGenius image analysis systems plus its new GeneTools Version 3.1 software at Analytica.
This will allow molecular biologists to see how both systems and software perfectly complement each other to produce the best results with a diverse range of DNA or protein gels and blots.
ChemiGenius2 and GeneGenius now include the most advanced camera technology available to the life science market.
This ensures users can capture the faintest images, as well as resolve close bands or spots.
ChemiGenius2 can also rapidly acquire images because it uses Syngene's Firewire technology for real-time 16 bit image capture.
For the best analysis of 1D gel and spot blot images Syngene has added many novel features to its new GeneTools software, which comes with ChemiGenius2 and GeneGenius.
These include an automated multi-layer gel function that analyses each row as if it were a separate gel.
This saves time by allowing users to obtain results from several small gels using one large gel and a single electrophoresis run.
Syngene's ChemiGenius2 and GeneGenius were recently extensively redesigned with space-saving in mind. Both systems' CCD cameras are now ingeniously positioned inside a light tight darkroom making them small enough to fit under laboratory shelves, and their innovative slide up darkroom doors save even more space.
For safety, the door is interlocked to prevent accidental UV exposure and also has a protective screen, which clips over a built in transilluminator.
Paul Ellwood, Syngene's divisional manager, commented: "Visitors will be amazed at how we have packed so many features to improve speed, sensitivity, and resolution into such small systems.
Any scientist that then tests the Genius range with the new GeneTools software is guaranteed to improve the results generated from virtually any chemiluminescent or fluorescent application." Syngene is on stand 205, hall B3, at Analytica.
