Bibra International is the first UK company to install the brand new Sysmex XT2000i automated haematology flow cytometer at its Clinical Pathology unit in Carshalton, south London.
The small laboratory offers a full range of tests including haematology, coagulation, clinical biochemistry, drugs of abuse, and immunoassays including virology screening.
Clinical Pathology Manager Sue Sulsh explained how the recently launched XT2000i satisfied the unit's clearly defined requirements.
'To replace our haematology analyser we were looking for a compact machine that would offer a full 5-part differential with reticulocyte count and indices without the expense of a large throughput capacity.
'We wanted an analyser that required low maintenance and had an auto-sampling facility to reduce our operating time costs.' All Sysmex instruments come with comprehensive service backup and support, and the XT series of haematology analysers is no exception.
The Bibra Clinical Pathology unit has already benefited from the company's ability to move quickly and complete installation within a few weeks of launch.
The XT-2000i provides fully automated reticulocyte analysis without compromising sample throughput, and offers substantial benefits to clinical decision-making with its Immature Reticulocyte Fraction (IRF) and Fluorescent Platelet (PLT-O) counts.
Extremely user-friendly, the information-processing unit (IPU) software guides user operation through interactive menu icons and displays sample and stored data in full-colour graphics, with an output to a printer or host LIMS.
